North Cascades Hiking Proposal

Miles and Fayhaa met in an outdoor group in college, creating a great network of like-minded friends. With their help, Miles pulled off the most epic surprise proposal to Fayhaa!

Inspired by Fayhaa’s love for mountains, the group worked together to plan a trip during her break before starting residency. The ruse was planned methodically.

To reduce suspicion, Miles had someone else suggest making a group trip happen. Of course, everyone was on board, but no real group trip happens smoothly, so another friend acted like they may not be able to make it.

All the while, Miles had two chat group discussions. One with all their friends, including Fayhaa, helping plan the whole trip and a second one excluding her, where they were planning all the secret details.

By the time Miles reached out to me, they had most of the plans settled. They’d hike in the mountains, he’d propose, and then Miles’ sisters would arrive with a change of clothes for more dressed-up photos. They just needed to find the perfect spot to hike and propose!

Miles and I worked together to find the best snow-free trail to propose on. Since they were all flying in, the group wouldn’t have micro spikes, and they needed the trail to be easy to follow for his sisters to hike in separately.

On the day of, they passed by me inconspicuously on the trail and Miles had everyone stop for a group photo on the bridge. Then it was his and Fayhaa’s turn for a photo on the bridge. Miles set his bag down, and they posed for a couple of photos taken by their friends. When he turned towards her looking serious, Fayhaa pointed at Miles and shouted something along the lines of “No you are not!” in total disbelief. We were all shocked that a group of eight could pull off such a massive secret!

After things settled down, we headed back up the trail to explore a nearby location. It was still covered in snow, so we had impromptu snowball fights and most of the group chose to glissade rather than hike back to the cars!

Congrats again Fayhaa and Miles!
