Washington State Marriage Proposal

It was Gavin and Tyler’s second trip to Washington and Tyler knew that every place they visited could be the place Gavin proposed. Days into the trip, she kept wondering where it would happen — every single destination was beautiful!

What she didn’t realize, was that Gavin had coordinated plans with me to photograph everything. When they ran into me at this overlook, I mentioned they should check out the spot below me for the best view. Tyler gasped when she saw it — it’s that shockingly beautiful.

Gavin invited her to sit down on a large tree root overlooking the Pacific Ocean and pulled out his journal. He’d written her a love letter. Many tears and laughs later, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

The evening was perfect. We spent the days remaining daylight wandering the trail, watching a sea otter eat dinner, the waves swirl below, and the sunset dip into the ocean.

Congratulations Gavin and Tyler!

Below are photos with Gavin and Tyler sitting near the edge of the cliffside — please note that I never ask my clients to do anything dangerous or uncomfortable — this is how these two wanted to spend their time watching the sunset.
