Olympic National Park Anniversary Photos
Ericka and Matt have had the unique opportunity to travel the world with the Navy; however, they have had one regret — not having their photos taken in every beautiful place they’ve been stationed. With only a few months left to live in Washington, they wanted to capture their memories here that reflect their experience of living near the water.
Lake Crescent Spring Engagement
The Olympic National Park is known for its rain — it is the United States’ wettest continental rainforest after all — so it was a delightful surprise when the forecast predicted sunshine for Maggie and Ryan’s engagement shoot. We arrived to see clear skies, a sparkling blue lake, and temps in the 60s! It was a wonderful change from the rainy spring we’ve had in western Washington this year.
Lake Cushman Elopement
Just a half-hour before photographing Nicole and Kamal’s newlywed and engagement photos, I was driving through a thick fog in Hoodsport. I was anxious for the rest of the drive — the weather is one of the only things out of my control when it comes to photoshoots, and all three of us were hoping to have gorgeous mountain views for these shots.
Mount Baker Couples Adventure Session
Not just anyone will wake up in the middle of the night to capture photos at sunrise, but that’s exactly what Priyanka and Akshay wanted.
North Cascades Engagement Session
I love bragging about my couples! Hamsini and Abbhinav were not only smart and fun (she’s a resident at Seattle Children’s and he works in mission control at NASA!), but they’re also some of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.
Olympic Peninsula Newlywed Adventure
Alex and Ty chose to have their newlywed photos taken at one of my all-time favorite spots in Washington. I love it because it’s not only gorgeous, but it has so much variety within a short distance.
Winter Olympic National Park Engagement
The Olympic National Park is full of so many incredible, yet easily accessible, locations. This lake, in particular, is one of my favorite spots to visit. It has everything you could want in one location — mountains, a lake with a picturesque dock, forest, and even a waterfall if you’re willing to hike. Like magic, the mountains look good no matter the weather, so it’s truly a gem to see.
North Cascades Wedding Climbing Adventure
Before Steve and Laurel had even booked me for their wedding, we had already planned this climbing newlywed shoot! They both love rock climbing (Steve’s a guide at the American Alpine Institute) and frequent the North Cascades, so they naturally wanted these photos taken at the top of Liberty Bell.
Mt. Rainier Anniversary Portraits
Nick and Latasha are from Florida, which made this adventure session extra special. Not only was it their first time seeing Mount Rainier, but it was also their first time visiting the Pacific Northwest! They planned the trip for their fourth anniversary, and, as a present, Nick organized setting up their shoot with me (cue the awww’s).
Mount Rainier Hiking Maternity Photos
Tricia and Keith — mountain climbers, backpackers and hikers — have introduced their newest family member to their outdoor lifestyle early. Hiking as much as possible through her pregnancy and quarantine, Tricia wanted to hike for their maternity photos, too.
Mount Rainier Fall Engagement
Mount Rainier is known as “the mountain” here in western Washington. At 14,417 feet, it’s the state’s tallest mountain. It’s so tall and prominent, in fact, that it creates its own weather. Often, you’ll see Rainier wearing a “cap,” or lenticular clouds that regularly form atop it. That being said — reliable weather is not what Rainier is known for.
Mount Rainier National Park Adventure Engagement
Despite the threat of a wildfire at Rainier earlier in the week, Yun and Alex’s Mount Rainier engagement shoot was all I hoped it would be. They wanted the best views of Rainier and were happy to hike to a short distance to get them.
Bold and Bright Snoqualmie Anniversary Photos
This session took a few miracles to pull off, but we didn’t let a looming deployment, illness, rescheduling, or babysitter problems stop us! Thankfully, Manny and Diana were determined to celebrate their third anniversary with a lakeside photo session.
North Bend Styled Elopement
Zoe and I arrived at the trailhead to a dusting of snow while it was still dark outside. The one thing that was visible was the cloud cover. There was a heavy fog everywhere. Our plan was to hike two miles to an overlook and take photos at sunrise, but I was beginning to wonder if it would be worth the time, considering we could get the same foggy images where we were.
A Vantage, Washington Desert Engagement
When I found out that Samantha and Gabe were dating, I squealed with delight. Delighted that my best friend had found a great guy, but also because I had already met him!
Spokane Riverside Engagement
Last week you heard my perspective of Jordan's proposal to Shae. This week you get the treat of hearing it from the bride-to-be, herself, followed by their riverside engagement photos in Spokane.
Palouse Adventure Engagement
My younger brother, Braden, proposed to Halley, his high school sweetheart of 6 years the night before this shoot. My hubby and I had the privilege of setting up the proposal, so when we made the spontaneous decision to take engagement photos the next day we knew the perfect spot for them — the proposal location! We happened to get to the river as the sun was setting, and lucked out with a gorgeous sunset glow.
North Cascades Fall Engagement
I’ve been dying to shoot in the North Cascades, ever since my first visit there, over a year ago! This turquoise lake is one of a kind and sure to stun everyone who sees it.
