North Cascades Wedding Climbing Adventure

Before Steve and Laurel had even booked me for their wedding, we had already planned this climbing newlywed shoot! They both love rock climbing (Steve’s a guide at the American Alpine Institute) and frequent the North Cascades, so they naturally wanted these photos taken at the top of Liberty Bell.

To avoid the crowds, we met at the trailhead before sunrise on the Monday after their wedding. We had the hiking trail, climb, and summit all to ourselves. Clear skies showed 360-degree views of glaciated peaks, layers of granite mountains, and larches below. It was the best view of the North Cascades I’ve seen to date!

I loved getting shots from every angle knowing that Laurel and Steve have many memories in these mountains. Aside from taking photos in their wedding attire while we were up there, they only had one request — to get a few shots with their climbing gear on over their wedding clothes. They giggled and laughed, and it was so fun to see them in their element.

Congratulations again, Laurel and Steve!
