What is an Adventure Elopement?

Eloping used to mean running away and quickly getting married without permission, but so much has changed. Today, eloping means celebrating your commitment to one another in a more intimate and meaningful way – with or without guests and planned anywhere from months or weeks in advance.

Elopements turn the chaos of having, let alone planning, a wedding into a more authentic experience. Adventure elopements throw all the rules of traditional weddings out the window. You keep the traditions that are meaningful to you, add in your own, and make intentional plans to celebrate in a way that feels like you and your partner.

Essentially, eloping helps you keep the focus of your wedding day on the reasons for this celebration — your love and commitment to one another.

Your day can include guests or not, be centered around an experience or an activity you love, and it can be as crazy or calm as you like. Adventure elopements have gained worldwide attention with couples shocking the media by getting married by doing extreme things — like getting married on the edge of a volcano, rock climbing in their wedding attire, or hiking to remote locations — but your day can be any type of adventure you want, extreme or not.

If roasting s’mores at a beach campfire and watching the sunset is more your style, it still counts as an adventure elopement! The adventure part of an elopement is up for interpretation and mainly serves as a source of inspiration and reminder that you have permission to celebrate however you see fit. No judgment here, only empowerment!

Here’s how it all goes down:

  1. You get to choose to get married in a place that feels inspiring and meaningful to you and your partner. I’ll help you find a location that’s just right for you and stunning enough that you won’t need to bring any extra décor.

  2. I’ll map out a timeline for your elopement that prioritizes your experience, working with you to suggest activities you’ll love while I capture epic photos throughout the day.

  3. You may choose to hire other vendors as well. Consider having someone do your hair and makeup, if you’ll want to have a special dessert together, or if you’ll want to carry a bouquet.

  4. Get married! You’ll spend your elopement day doing the things you love most with the love of your life.

It’s that simple. This is the one day that should be all about what you and your partner want. Do it your way!
