Small Wedding Venues in Oregon

Oregon is such an incredible place to elope. Its scenery compares to Iceland’s, is less crowded than Washington, and no less beautiful.

Just like my list of smaller elopement venues in Washington, these venues all include potential lodging, beautiful scenery, and appropriate spaces for more intimate ceremonies, receptions, and even weekend-long events.

Intimate weddings

Of course, eloping doesn’t require a venue — you can get married in the beautiful outdoors as well. If that’s more your style, check out these lists of where to elope in the outdoors in Oregon and Washington.

The venues on this list are organized by region. Click below to jump to the area you’re interested in or scroll on to view them all.

Greater Portland Area

You don’t have to go out of your way to find beautiful scenery in Oregon. These venues are all within one hour from Portland — very convenient, yet you’ll be completely immersed in nature.

North Plains

Hornings Hideout offers an oasis just 35 minutes Northwest of Portland. Camp (RV or tent), and spend your free time fishing for trout, floating the lake on paddle boats, or playing disc golf. Get married amongst the forest with the sound of the creek nearby before hosting a reception under their covered pavilion.

Colton

Toted as a sanctuary in the wilderness, Camp Colton seems to be just that. Get married in their unaffiliated Historic Chapel or elsewhere on their 85 acres of forest. Host a reception at the Great Hall and invite your guests to stay in the camp's cabins, yurts, or camp with your own RV or tent.

Vernonia

Set among 28 acres of gated forestland, full of springs, creeks, and ponds, you’ll love watching for wildlife, hiking, and biking at Vernonia Springs. Get married on their lawn and party the evening away by the lakeside pavilion, complete with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit.

Dundee

The Black Walnut Vineyard is right between Portland and Salem but offers a totally distinct look. More of a luxurious Italian vineyard, this place looks and feels like you’ve stepped into another country. Host your elopement here for an elegant, but relaxed vibe.

Mt Hood

Get married on the mountain in any season. Mt Hood is known for having the longest ski season in the U.S. (from November to May!), and in the summer is one of my favorite spots to find waterfalls, hike, or float on nearby lakes.

Host your intimate wedding at one of Timberline’s many event spaces (I love the Silcox Hut), or at the Cooper Spur, and enjoy your favorite seasonal activities while you’re at it.

Columbia River Gorge

Known for its stunning waterfalls, adorable historic highway, vistas, and many hiking trails, this is a location not to be missed. It’s only 30 minutes from Portland, making it easily accessible for those coming from out of town or who want to celebrate with a bit of nightlife in the city.

Consider booking the Cape Horn Estate or The Griffin House for fantastic views of the gorge, or the Bridal Veil Lodge next to the infamous Multnomah Falls.

Do research the venues on the Washington side of the river here as well!

Silverton

Just 16 miles northeast of Salem, this former timber town is adorable. Full of antique shops, boutiques, and eateries, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy life at a slower pace.

Get married in town at the Oregon Garden, or further away at the renowned Silver Falls State Park for a ceremony in the forest with time for photos at their many waterfalls.

Central Oregon

If you know me, you know that Central Oregon is my favorite spot to vacation in Oregon. It’s an outdoorsman’s paradise with Smith Rock State Park, caves, lakes, rivers, and Mt. Bachelor all within a short drive. Host your elopement here to enjoy diverse activities, unique deserts, and great food.

Terrebonne

Prepare to be blown away by this Tuscan-inspired ranch. Set along the Crooked River with the Smith Rock State Park towering above, the Ranch at the Canyons is completely unique and gorgeous. Note that lodging isn’t offered here, but it’s simply too good to ignore!

Bend

I stumbled upon the Elk Lake Resort years ago and visiting by snowcat or snowmobile in the winter has been on my bucket list since. It’s remote in the winter months, but easily accessible in the summer, and makes for a great getaway.

Sisters

Sisters is an adorable western-themed town. I love it because it’s smaller and less trafficked than Bend, but just as beautiful. If you’re wanting the option to adventure, but with a luxurious touch, the Five Pine Lodge and Cabins is your place. For a more homegrown appeal, check out Rainshadow Organics.

Camp Sherman

If you’re dreaming of an elopement with rustic cabins, beautiful lakes, and forests, look into the Suttle Lodge and the Lake Creek Lodge (pet friendly!). However, if you’re wanting to completely unplug and feel more removed, the House on Metolius’s 200-acre retreat is for you.

Black Butte Ranch

Black Butte Ranch makes for an incredible elopement backdrop. Get married in front of Phalarope Lake with the snowcapped Cascade mountains in the background throughout summer, or in snow-covered forests throughout winter. Optional full-service packages make eloping here especially stress-free!

McKenzie Bridge

Sweet and simple is the style at the Loloma Lodge. Stay, marry, and celebrate in the woods with “campground, middle of nowhere vibes” as they say. Bonus — it’s dog friendly!

Powell Butte

You’ll find beautiful planes and mountain views at the Brasada Ranch, but it’s the Trestle Pond and historic bridge that are my favorite spots here and they’re perfect for more intimate gatherings.

The Coast

Oregon’s coast is one of a kind – full of sea stacks, tide pools, and cliffs with jaw-dropping views. The weather here is temperate, so it’s a great place to visit any time of year, although you can expect rain throughout the winter months. Get married on the beach and check out the tide pools or from a cliff for the opportunity to whale watch.

Pistol River

Crook Point has it all. If you’re wanting to elope on a cliff overlooking the coast, this is your place. There are no other venues in the Pacific Northwest like it, and because they’re amazing, they also have various spaces for your reception and lodging needs as well.

Otis

Think summer camp at the ocean but for your elopement! The Westwind is just that, with lodges and cabins available to rent. The only tricky part is getting to and from — it’s typically done by crossing the river when the tide allows.

Brookings

Coastal Cliffs offers elopements with up to 25 guests and optional lodging for the eloping couple. The views overlooking sea stacks along the coastline are stunning.

Although the Capella by the Sea is a ceremony-only spot, it’s stunning and surprisingly affordable. The chapel-like wooden A-frame features crisscrossing beams and wall-to-ceiling windows looking out to the Pacific Ocean — it’s tranquil, scenic, and everything you could hope for in a seaside venue.

Cannon Beach

Get married in front of the infamous Haystack Rock and celebrate at Pelican Brewing steps away. Of course, lodging isn’t offered through the brewery, but eloping here would be too easy and there’s no lack of beautiful places to stay.

Southern Oregon

Southern Oregon is a gem! It’s chock full of waterfalls, forests, and tons of activities (hiking, off-roading, soaking in natural hot springs, and rafting are my four favorite activities here). Of course, Crater Lake National Park is the biggest draw, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the lack of crowds.

Elope within Crater Lake National Park, and if you’re lucky, snag lodging there, too. If not, stay at my favorite bed and breakfast that also offers a reception space — The Prospect Historic Hotel.
