Most Romantic Pacific Northwest Honeymoon Destinations — Washington Edition

We’re living in strange times and making travel plans isn’t what it used to be. That doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice having a fun and romantic honeymoon though. After years of searching to find the most secluded, romantic, and adventurous places in the Pacific Northwest for my own vacations – I’m sharing the best of the best.

Please be sure to research travel advisories for any area you’re interested in visiting. Know that some of the spas mentioned below are limiting capacity or are temporarily closed due to Covid-19 at the time of this being written. As with any trip, doing a bit of personal research will give you the most up-to-date information, set expectations, and give you the best experience.

The Post Hotel – Leavenworth, WA

Located on the river with mountain views in quaint downtown Leavenworth, this spa and adult-only hotel is an ideal location for anyone who wants to combine luxury with all kinds of outdoor fun. They have bike, snowshoe, cross country ski rentals, and some of my favorite hikes nearby. Don’t leave without tubing the river or trying your hand at white water rafting with Blue Sky Outfitters!

Doe Bay Resort – Orcas Island, WA

Located on 38 acres with waterfront, this resort has cabins, yurts, and campsites to choose from. Be sure to check out their interactive resort map to find your favorite spot. During your stay you can kayak (guided tours offered twice daily), go whale watching, or visit the spa with clothing-optional soaking tubs, sauna, massage, and yoga.

Stehekin – near Chelan in Stehekin, WA

Only accessible by foot (and a very long hike at that), boat, or air travel, I love that this tiny town takes a bit more effort to reach. The most common way to get to town is by ferry from Lake Chelan. Once you’ve arrived, enjoy the lake, a hike to Rainbow falls, rent electric bikes, kayaks, or Polaris Rangers to explore the valley on your own, and end your day with a massage and dinner at the Stehekin Valley Ranch.

Luxury Houseboat – Chelan, WA

If you like the idea of visiting Stehekin, but not the amount of effort it takes to get to, stay at Lake Chelan instead. It has all the conveniences of being in town but you’ll still have the perks of being on the lake (boat, kayak, and jet ski rentals are available in the summer months). Spice up your stay by skydiving into a winery!

The Harmony Lodge – Baring, WA

The Harmony Lodge is one of my favorite finds in Washington. It sits on 50 private acres in Baring, Washington within view of the Skykomish River. Their online images ooze romantic cabin vibes and if you can be tempted away from the wood-burning stove and the riverside lounging chairs, there is so much to do nearby. From fishing (the lodge provides a pole), hiking, climbing, and Stevens Pass Ski Resort, there’s something fun to do for every season. Bonus – it’s pet friendly, too!

Ross Lake Resort – Rockport, WA

This is another special spot, only accessible by foot, boat, or the resort’s water taxi. It’s seasonal and only open from July to October so reserving space here is a hot commodity. If you’re able to snag a spot you’ll have the luxury of staying on the lake in floating cabins, renting kayaks, canoes, boats, and fishing rods to occupy your unplugged time here.

Lochaerie Cabins – Lake Quinault, WA

Unplug (no Wifi or TV) on the edge of the Olympic National Park. These cabins have stunning views of Lake Quinault, the mountains, and even have kayaks available to check out. Enjoy accessing hiking trails through the rainforest right from your back door.

Lake Crescent Lodge – Port Angeles, WA

Lake Crescent is one of my very favorite places to visit in Washington. The lake is in the Olympic National Park, surrounded by mountains, and looks incredible whatever the weather. There are hiking trails for all abilities, beach access, and a boat launch (with boat rentals available) all within walking distance from the lodge.

Silver Lakes Cabin – Maple Falls, WA

This gorgeous modern build features water views, a deck with a hot tub, fire pit, and lounge chairs as well as a master bedroom complete with wall-to-ceiling windows featuring the forest and a soaking tub. If you dare to leave this oasis, you’ll find the infamous North Cascades National Park and Mount Baker Ski Area close by.

Treehouses

It’s impossible to choose just one treehouse in Washington, so here are my favorites. Treehouse Point in Issaquah is the most well-known in the area, but beware that it books up quickly. The Original Pete Nelson Treehouse is conveniently located in Redmond, and last, but not least, is the Tranquil-A-Tree. It’s gorgeous, has a hot tub, is pet friendly, and is located in White Salmon near the incredible Columbia River Gorge

Wellspring Spa – Ashford, WA

Staying here, or at the very least going for a post-hike dip in their hot tubs as a day-use visitor, has been on my bucket list for a while now. The spa offers lodging in individual cabins in a variety of sizes for couples or families near Mount Rainier National Park. Lodging here is everything you could hope for. Cozy cabins, fireplaces, and indoor hammocks!

Captain Whidbey – Whidbey Island, WA

Get your island honeymoon right here in the Pacific Northwest. Choose your adventure in getting there – by car, ferry, seaplane, or boat! Every cabin on the property is different, featuring historic details that combine the natural harmony with the surrounding culture, landscape, and sea. The relaxing atmosphere is an understatement. While you’re there, enjoy wandering through old military forts, lighthouses, and some of Washington’s finest landscapes

Black Horse Ranch – Spokane, WA

Get off the grid at this little gold mine of a cabin on a gated 1,600-acre ranch. Enjoy all the modern amenities, like TV, Wifi, and AC as well as a wood-fired Chofu Jacuzzi. Explore nearby ATV trails, hikes, and fishing at the trout pond, all with breathtaking views.

Sagecliff Hotel Resort and Spa – Quincy, WA

With 194 sunny days throughout the year, this winery, inn and spa overlooking the Columbia River Gorge is the perfect place to soak up the sun. Relax poolside, or catch a show at the nearby Gorge Amphitheater.

Iron Springs Resort, Copalis Beach, WA

Honestly, I’m hesitant to mention Iron Springs Resort because I’d like to keep it all to myself. You already have to plan your stay months in advance to book a cabin here and I don’t want to have to compete for a stay with all of you reading this too. It’s too perfect a place not to share though. The cabins perch on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and It’s even more romantic than it sounds. While there, enjoy private beach access to miles of beach and restored hiking trails nearby.
