Most Romantic Pacific Northwest Honeymoon Destinations — Oregon Edition

Sequel to the most romantic honeymoon destinations in Washington blog, this guide on where to stay in Oregon has been long awaited! Oregon is known for its lush landscapes, famous beaches, waterfalls, deserts, and mountains. It truly has something for everyone to enjoy.

However, please be sure to research travel advisories for any area you’re interested in visiting. As with any trip, doing a bit of personal research will give you the most up-to-date information, set expectations, and give you the best experience.

The Oregon Coast

Everyone has their favorite beach along the Oregon coast, but the places I’ve been ogling to stay have been the Hallmark Resort and Spa within view of Haystack Rock on Cannon Beach, the Channel House at Depoe Bay, Seaside Inn, and the Cabins at White Rock Resort overlooking Bookings. Take your pick of ocean-side rooms and pick up some saltwater taffy while you’re there.

The Columbia River Gorge

One of my favorite areas to visit is Hood River. The town is adorable and boasts nearby attractions like Multnomah Falls, the Historic Columbia River Highway, Rowena’s Crest and more. Stay at the Hood River Hotel if you’d like to be close to town or the Tranquil-a-Tree treehouse in the woods if you’d like a more remote and rustic experience.

Portland

If city exploration is your vibe, consider staying at the Kimpton Hotel Vintage. I love its vintage charm, modern accents, and downtown location. If you prefer water views, stay at the Kimpton Riverplace Hotel instead.

Southeast Oregon

You must check out Cedar Bloom on Hipcamp! It’s a large, gorgeous property full of meadows, 100 acres of forest, a river with swimming holes, outdoor tubs, saunas, and all kinds of accommodations. Personally, I think their dome overlooking the river is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. If they’re booked out, the Treesort is another enchanting option — treehouses among 36 acres of forest, right next to the Siskiyou National Forest. Both are located near Cave Junction.

Ashland

This little cabin looks like the perfect home away from home. Complete with an electric fireplace, Adirondack chairs, fire pit, and outdoor bath, it couldn’t get more picturesque. Enjoy nearby hiking trails, Crater Lake (an hour away), and kayaking on nearby lakes.

Metolius Basin

Imagine staying in your own private cabin on 200 acres with riverfront overlooking Mt Jefferson. That’s what you’ll find at the House on Metolius. Peace is nearly guaranteed since there is no cell service on the property. Fill your time fishing, swimming, relaxing, and hiking the nearby trails.

Mount Hood

Consider staying at the Historic Timberline Lodge. Ski out your door during winter, ride the chairlift for great views of the mountain in summer, and spend your time mountain biking, hiking, and soaking in the sights.

For more remote accommodations, check out this solar-powered cabin. Explore their 20 acres, pick berries or relax by the year-round spring-fed brook. End your day with a campfire and a heated outdoor bath.
