Backpacking to Stehekin
Stehekin is a remote town in the North Cascades — only accessible by foot, ferry (from the Lake Chelan Boat Co. and Stehekin Ferry), or plane. Based along the northern shores of Lake Chelan, the town is surrounded by 7,000-foot mountains and the third deepest lake in the United States. Saying it’s incredibly beautiful would be an understatement!
Road Tripping to Glacier National Park
Is anyone else feeling antsy from being home during the pandemic for so long!? Zach and I have found the perfect solution for safe and nearly hassle-free travel (no wild airports, extremely long waits for rental cars, etc.!). Road trips! Back in 2020, we road tripped to Moab with Zach’s family, and during the summer of 2021 Zach and I visited Glacier National Park.
Thru-hiking the Enchantments
Of the 394,000 acres in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness in Washington state, the Enchantments are the crown jewel. Throughout the area, you’ll find jagged mountains, crystal clear lakes, and granite that has been worn smooth by glaciers. It’s common to spot fish jumping, goats climbing, and eagles soaring no matter where you go in the five zones.
Camping in the Alvord Desert — A Southeast Oregon Road Trip
The Alvord Desert might just be Oregon’s best-kept secret. It’s 12 miles of beautiful desert and hot springs overlooked by the Steen Mountains in remote, southeastern Oregon. It’s like the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, but without the crowds. That’s why during the height of the pandemic, Zach and I knew dry camping there would make for the perfect way to celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary.
Overlanding the Washington State Backcountry Discovery Route — Section Two
Driving miles and miles into the backcountry to camp and explore may not be for everyone, but it was on our minds long before we purchased my husband’s Jeep Wrangler. As soon as we bought it, we started planning for our first overland adventure.
Four Days in Moab, Utah
Moab is home to three, incredibly noteworthy parks — Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse State Park. Each is distinct and gorgeous. Within and around the parks are plenty of opportunities for off-roading, mountain biking, climbing, hiking, and rafting. Moab is an adventurer’s paradise!
9-Day Adventure on Kauai
Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands and features a dramatic landscape ranging from lush rainforests to massive sea cliffs. Nicknamed the Garden Isle, it’s the most beautiful place to adventure, relax, and wander! My husband Zach, his sister Nicole, and I were fortunate enough to get to spend nine days on “island time.”
Climbing Mount St. Helens
Summiting Mount Saint Helens has been a hike three years in the making for my husband, Zach, and I. The hike is 10 miles long with 4,500 feet of elevation gain.
10 Day Iceland Ring Road Itinerary
I can’t believe it’s nearly been a year since Zach and I visited Iceland, and I haven’t shared our experience! We spent 10 magical days traveling the Ring Road and stopping to photograph every waterfall possible.
Backpacking to Havasupai Falls, Arizona
My husband, Zach, and I backpacked to Havasupai Falls in the Grand Canyon in April of 2018. It felt unbelievably surreal while we were there, and it still doesn’t feel like it really happened.
Havasupai and Mooney Falls are two of the most famous waterfalls in the world, and rightly so. Their turquoise waters, surrounded by red rocks, are stunning. The trip there is quite the trek though — 10 miles each way, to be specific.
One Week In Yellowstone National Park
Driving to Yellowstone with my husband and in laws last August was my first ever road trip! The trip was incredible and now I understand why Yellowstone is the most visited national park in the U.S. It shocks you with geysers and hot springs, then awes you with rolling hills, valleys of bison and beautiful lakes.
