PNW Boss Babes is all about women supporting women. It's a group for Pacific Northwest creative female business owners to network, learn and support one another. If you're not already part of our FREE Facebook community, please join! We are stronger together!
If you’re a part of PNW Boss Babes, then you already know that I am in love with Podcasts. I listen to them on drives, cooking dinner, cleaning… pretty much everywhere. They pick me up when I’m feeling down, keep me sane, inspired and smiling throughout my day. In other words, podcasts are my secret motivation that keep me going, so I’m sharing the love!
I have seen one word mentioned over and over again throughout the PNW Boss Babe group — FEAR. Everyone fears putting themselves out there for the world to judge and it is crippling.
Jealousy is something I overcome daily. It's usually other business's social media highlight's that trigger it and it tears me down. Over the last three years of building my photography business I've learned to practice these three tips to minimize envy.
Its 10:30pm, and I just got in bed, ready to fall sleep. As soon as my head hits the pillow, my mind kicks into overdrive, thinking of everything I need to do the next day. Sound familiar?
I get it, part of running your own business is having control of what goes on. You control your brand, content, launches, customer service…. everything! It’s exhilarating, but do you ever find yourself backlogged with the tasks?
Just thinking about networking events makes me break out in cold sweats. The thought of going to an event where I don’t know anyone sounds like a night of torture, regardless of the free appetizers.
When I started M. Laine Photography, I was terrified to be running my own business. I was a natural fit into the role of "artist," but the role of "business owner" was foreign and overwhelming. Fast forward three years, and all of that has changed.
During the work week you can find me sending emails while wearing sweatpants, eating brownies out of the pan for lunch, while simultaneously doing laundry.
I’ve been a boss babe since 2015, and although I can’t see myself wanting any other lifestyle now, it wasn’t always that way. When I first launched M. Laine Photography I struggled with entrepreneurship, networking and finding clients. Rather than relive my troubles, I want you to be able to learn from my time in the trenches.
On my days off, you'll find me exploring Washington and beyond with my hubby, Zach — the best adventure buddy I could ever ask for. We're avid hikers and backpackers, always in search of our next adventure. When I'm home, you'll find me under a blanket with my nose in a book, probably eating ice cream. I'd love to connect with you, so head over to my contact form and leave me a note!
