Ever wonder what goes on at a styled wedding shoot? Here’s a look behind the scenes of the Winter Green Weddings styled wedding I recently photographed.
“We’ll shoot rain or shine!” is what I remember telling Diana, the wedding planner of Passionate Weddings, when we started organizing a styled shoot at Winter Green Weddings in Buckley, WA. The Pacific Northwest winter didn’t let us down either. Blue skies and sunshine teased us the day before the shoot, only to rain throughout the entire shoot on the day of. Thankfully everyone was prepared, and the venue has just as beautiful of a space indoors as it does outside.
Braden and Halley’s wedding took place on the last beautiful fall day in October. Halley nailed her aesthetic of vintage rustic and there was humor sprinkled throughout the day. Overall, it was the perfect fall wedding, and the couple’s portraits and sparkler exit were my favorite moments to capture.
There are few places in the U.S. as beautiful as America’s National Parks, and Mount Rainier is one that is close to my heart. Living in its shadow and adventuring there often, I am familiar with the challenges that come with planning a wedding at Rainier. Here are my best tips to make your Rainier National Park wedding come to life.
There is a new wedding venue in town — In Chehalis, WA to be exact. Gathering Grace Farm is on a picturesque farm, complete with a barn, forest, and large front yard that is perfect for ceremonies and parties into the night. The house itself is full of character. It boasts a large kitchen and five bedrooms — which is perfect if you’re looking for a place to stay before your big day.
Megan and Garrett's wedding was so much fun! They added many personal touches to their day, from their hand written vow books to the book arch Garrett made! I loved their nerdy theme (Megan's own words!) of books that took over McCormick Woods Golf Club. Every table displayed one of their favorite authors, with the bride and groom table displaying Tolkien. Coincidence that Garrett's wedding band has Elvish on it? I think not.
