With These Rings: Creating Beautiful Jewelry Memories

How did With These Rings start?

Stephanie credits the creation of With These Rings to her husband, Brandt. They were planning on eloping and needed wedding rings.

At the time, she was teaching jewelry at North Seattle Community College and Stephanie was feeling the pressure of choosing a meaningful and beautiful ring, worthy of a jeweler. That’s when Brandt came up with the idea of making wedding bands for each other. She taught others how to make jewelry, so surely she could teach him. What could be more meaningful than that?

Thus, the couple spent a day creating their rings in their spare bedroom that acted as their studio. They had a great time, and Brant loved the process – so much so that Stephanie realized that everyone should have this opportunity.

How long has With These Rings been a business?

Five and a half years! It began when Stephanie and Brandt lived in Seattle, but the business really took off when they moved their studio to Port Townsend.

Port Townsend is out of the way for most everyone in the state of Washington, but that only adds to the charm. It’s a quick ferry ride from Seattle and whether you’re visiting for a day trip or a weekend, it makes for a romantic getaway, which only adds to the experience of making your own wedding bands.

How long does making wedding bands take?

It depends on a few factors, but usually couples walk away with their rings the same day. Fabricating a band is the most popular option and only takes 3-5 hours to complete.

If a couple wants a more complicated design, to add stones, or to fit a band around an engagement ring it does take more time.

What if you’re not a crafty person?

Thankfully Stephanie has been teaching for 10 years and she won’t let you mess up your ring. She says it doesn’t matter if you’re crafty or not, making band involves a series of small steps that add up so it’s not an intimidating process.

Who does With These Rings work with?

With These Rings is inclusive of all couples and is LGBTQ friendly. They have helped couples from all over the world make wedding bands for each other!
