After photographing thousands of families at my previous job as a studio photographer, I've spent the last 4 years avoiding these requests. However, when Megan (check out her ferry engagement session here) told me her family needed photos before half of them move out of state, I knew it would be the perfect way to ease back into it.
They were a joy to work with and helped choose the perfect location — Port Gamble. It was my first time visiting, and it is an adorable town! Picture victorian styled houses lined with white picket fences, all overlooking the Puget Sound. Could it get any more picturesque!?
I knew I found the perfect spot for their photos when I found a grassy nook overlooking the water. We started shooting just as the sun started going down, giving us the golden backlighting that I love.
As we were wrapping up the last of the photos, they had one last request — to take a group photo on top of a nearby wall. Getting past the fear of heights, and withstanding temptations to push each other off, we finished the night with some fun!
